El Hierro – Boiling sea – Video
Check these pics of the sea by El Hierro, Canary Islands, Spain, says reader from the UK.
Since July there have been over 11,000 tremors (eleven thousand!)
They had another 50 quakes today, biggest one 4.4 Richter; could be major eruption at a moment’s notice.
Quakes in the northern waters as well as the southern ones.
Depth of eruptions now only about 150 metres.

It now appears that there is a rift with several eruptive points, coming closer and closer to the southern coast.
There are also many eruptions along the northern coast, where 50,000 years ago a huge slice of the island slipped into the sea.
Anxious times for all residents of this lovely little island.
Best regards,
Hans Schreuder
I wonder what is heating the seas.

Are You Prepared?

I recommend this DVD

“I wonder what is heating the seas.”
C’mon – you know it’s CO2 – haven’t you been paying attention ?
You are obviously forgetting cow flatulence. I am sure that is the real cause.
Yes that why the NZ govt seriously wanted to tax cow farts! NO JOKE!
Is that anthropogenic undersea vulcanism?
Ha ha. I like that.
“…several eruptive points, coming closer and closer to the southern coast.”
“There are also many eruptions along the northern coast…”
With the island itself sandwiched in the middle. I don’t think I would want to be on that island or within several thousand miles of that island.
Who say they don’t make land any more?
It’s SUV’s, Subterranean Undersea Volcanoes.
wonder what a drawn line between the nth and sth eruptions would look like, and what bits may sink or rise, if she powers up a bit more?
nice to see they finnaly did get the sea cams into gear. would like to see more of their film though.
I sure would not be waiting for the govt to say leave about now. be packed and animals loaded and gone.
