Heavy snowfall in northern parts of UK – Record-breaking waves on Irish coast

A severe weather warning issued by the Met Office today covered large parts of England and Wales, as well as Northern Ireland and most of Scotland.

With snow coating the ground as far south as Exmoor in Devon, the Met Office said Wales, the Midlands, and even southern areas including London should brace themselves for snowy conditions later this week.

Meanwhile in Scotland, severe weather warnings of heavy snowfall above 200 meters and blizzard conditions were issued yesterday.

The alert follows last Thursday’s storm, which battered the country leaving thousands of homes without power.

Remember when Dr David Viner, a senior research scientist at the climatic research unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, told us that within a few years winter snowfall will become “a very rare and exciting event”?

“Children just aren’t going to know what snow is,” said Viner.

In five days time the UK and western Europe will be hit by a massive storm…we are just playing right now.

  2. Otter says:

I don’t suppose there is a list anywhere, of all the different people / groups, who have made this same or similar stupid statement?

  3. Laurel says:

soon we may read of times like last century, all iced over and many crops and animals unable to survive. Harvest in aus is weird this year, late due to the LACK of warmth to dry the crops before reaping, and many really good crops copped floods. overall a really decent year after 10 years savage drought, which BTW is perfectly normal for this land.

Yes, the gift that keeps on giving is still here. I keep waiting to see a new statement from Viner saying that children just aren’t going to know what warm summers are like.

  6. Rhys Jaggar says:

Ah, but you forget, Robert, those methane bubbles in the Arctic are ‘terrifying’ according to a reader in the Independent.

    Scaring people MAKES MONEY.

    Telling the truth doesn’t………….

England: as my husband says, the bookies must be shaking in their shoes about the possibility of a white Christmas. Ten days to go and they could lose their shirts!

Here in Germany (Ober Schwaben -Schwaebische Alb) we are having no winter at all. The Alps are bare of snow, and it is unusally warm. However, the Chemtrails have been thick this year, and I believe the temperatures and normal storm patterns have been altered to convince the public that Global Warming is real.

This is very disturbing : The first blogger to break the Climategate2 story has had a visit from the police and has had his computers seized. Tallbloke’s Talkshop first reported on CG2 due to the timing of the release being overnight in the USA. Today he was raided by six UK police (Norfolk Constabulary and Metropolitan police) and several of his computers were seized as evidence. He writes:

After surveying my ancient stack of Sun Sparcstations and PII 400 pc’s, they ended up settling for two laptops and an adsl broadband router. I’m blogging this post via my mobile.

That means his cellphone. In his blog report ( http://tallbloke.wordpress.com/2011/12/14/tallbloke-towers-raided-many-computers-taken/ ) are all the details. including actions in the US involving WordPress and the US Department of Justice. Jeff Id at The Air Vent also has a report here: http://noconsensus.wordpress.com/2011/12/14/crackdown-shooting-in-the-dark/ Mr Delingpole Telegraph http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/jamesdelingpole/100124397/climategate-obamas-boot-boys-strike-back/ The Guardian http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2011/dec/15/hacked-climate-emails-police-west-yorkshire?INTCMP=SRCH and Washington Examiner http://washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/op-eds/2011/12/obamas-justice-department-joins-britains-climategate-leaker-manhunt/2006206

No snow yet but, babysat my grandchild this afternoon through a five min burst of hailstone that carpeted the streets, houses and hedges lol. Sleet this morning about halfpast ten followed by rain and sleet again, got my soft boots completely soaked (got caught out in it), fur bobbled inside underfoot and rubbed the pad of my heel to a blister!, was NOT nice, lol.

      • Nick Stoneman says:

        Hi Valerie

My partner Sandy bought some cheap faux sheepskin boots/slippers from Marks and Spencer and sprayed them with waterproof spray. Worked a treat! May help your soft boots.

We really have to start rolling back the police state we seem to be heading towards. Can I suggest we all consider joining the British Constitution Group (NOT a racist group – just people who want to use Common Law to protect ourselves from the state), join in Lawful Rebellion (non-violent rebellion) and support the Lawful Bank (deprive the state’s masters – international bankers – of income). Find out more at http://www.thebcgroup.org.uk/

        Best wishes, Nick
