An extreme cold front has broken a series of low temperature records for Canberra, Goulburn and the Snowy Mountains, says the weather bureau.

A rapidly moving cold front from Antarctica moved though Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales and the ACT yesterday, delivering a low of -4 degrees Celsius and a dusting of snow to the Snowy Mountains.

Remember, it’s summer in Australia.

Goulburn experienced -0.1C, beating the previous record January low of 1.4C.

In Canberra, the mercury dropped to 1.6C, eclipsing the record of 1.8C set in 1956.

The southern tablelands and Victoria’s Alpine region were also been hit by the summer chill.

Obviously Julia’s Carbon Tax has fixed the warming problem in Oz.

The most important thing is the rain. Sydney has not really had a Summer with overcast days and rainy days since Spring.
As many that are familiar with Robert Felix’s work, it is the precipitation that will cause the ice age.
Yes the rainy conditions is a big big sign. I think the tipping pt is near and it will highlighted when the Sun lets loose to end this 11,500 cycle.

Welcome to the beginning of the coming Ice Age . It that part of World they aren’t suppose to have freezing weather right now.

  4. Lloyd Robins says:

Interesting – “Forecaster Sean Carson says the snow is unseasonable, but not rare.” – if this was a heat wave instead, it would be because of climate change. Because it’s cold, it’s just unseasonable. What rubbish. It’s Summer here – we’re not supposed to get freezing weather in Summer in Australia, whichever way you want to look at it…
