Winter arrived with a vengeance late Saturday afternoon when the first flakes began drifting down.
“Within hours, a thick blanket of snow covered the city and, by the time all was said and done Sunday morning, a daily record of 9.2 centimetres had come down,” says reporter Jason Hewlett.
“The previous daily record of 8.8 cm fell on Jan. 14, 2000.”
With below-seasonal temperatures and more snow in the forecast for the next several days. the record snowfall is just the tip of the iceberg, says Hewlett.

Are You Prepared?

I recommend this DVD

Here in South Central Washington, just east of the Cascades we got well over 3′ in about 1.5 days! Looks like we’re getting a needed break at this moment.
Snow depths do vary here, some years almost nothing, other years up to 5′ for the season, but not this much in such a short period of time.
Our temps have warmed up to 20 degrees, so feels great!
