With snow totals of 6 inches in some areas, the equivalent of what the city typically receives during an entire winter, Accuweather figures that this storm dumped a winter’s worth of snow on Seattle in one day.

As of early afternoon yesterday, up to two feet of snow had fallen along I-5 south of Olympia with reports of four feet of snow in the Cascades southeast of Seattle.

2 Responses to Seattle – Winter’s Worth of Snow in One Day

  1. Kenneth Lund says:

My sister resides in Seattle. She writes:

“The whole state is under snow and ice, emergency has been declared by the governor. I haven’t left my house since Monday working from home…. Eric went in on Tuesday the one day it melted but then it dumped on us and we got 6 inches at my house- now 2 inches on ice on top of that! It’s not pretty. Or yes it is but I’m getting cabin fever.. I sent you some pix”

Want to bet come spring and summer the enviro whackos will be screaming that we are in another drought? Despite full reservoirs thanks to this big dump. Couple of years ago, despite snow packs in excess of 40 ft on Mt. Rainier they were saying that the size and shape of the individual snow flakes was not right. We needed to have water restrictions put in place because the blessed snow flakes weren’t the right shape and size! Lord help us.
