“Snow drifts reaching up to rooftops kept tens of thousands of villagers prisoners in their own homes Saturday,” says this article on Yahoo.com.

“Authorities said an estimated 30,000 people were still cut off in Romania, and more than 110,000 in the Balkan countries, including 60,000 in Montenegro, nearly 10 percent of the population.”

Montenegro’s capital of Podgorica was brought to a standstill by 20 inches (50 cm) of snow, a 50-year record, and snow measured three feet (one meter) deep in higher villages on the French Mediterranean island of Corsica.

Even in Italy’s far southern Calabria region – the so-called “toe” of Italy – many villages were cut off, and in spite of air drops, food threatened to run out in some Romanian villages.

Forecasters expect the “cold snap”, which started two weeks ago, to continue until mid-February.

(I don’t know they can label such a disastrous weather pattern a “cold snap.”)

It’s the longest “cold-snap” in Belgium in 70 years.

Are you guys nuts? Many areas in the United States are frequently reporting “record high” temperatures and very low precipitation. Of course there will be periods of normal weather patterns, but overall, there has been more high-temp activity and less moisture than any period in my lifetime. You naysayers need to open your mind up a bit and realize that climate change for the worse is very real – its incrementally slow to change, but it is changing.

Kimberley: Same here in Britain with the BBC and all the other channels — no mention of the cold ‘snap’ (what a joke!)on the continent of Europe. The BBC I can understand as their pensions are all in carbon credits so if the global warming/climate change scam goes down, so do the pensions of all the people who work at the BBC, including those of all the very top people.

I usually apply the 50% rule to most things. I find that at least 50% of everything I read or am told tends to be mostly bovine feces, colored by personal interests, perception, hyperbole and bad info. If I subtract 50% and it still seems relevant then I pay attention. This is really bad. I am paying attention. Pray for these folks and push this info out.

  4. Kimberly says:

I don’t understand why this story isn’t getting more attention in the US media than the European heat wave about 6 or 7yrs ago, when temps climbed to what we in the Great Lakes consider to be a relatively cool summer, but it killed dozens of elderly in France… the death toll from this year’s sub-freezing temps far outnumber those from that little heat wave.

  5. Gail says:

In all fairness, The Weather Channel does bring up the topic. However, it is usually in a 10 second blurb.

  6. jim says:

Not a word from the main stream media about the number of deaths due to the cold. I remember a few years ago the media went crazy reporting about the number of deaths due to a heat wave in France. The official policy of the media seems to be the world is warming due to human activity——–end of story and don’t confuse us with the facts.

Western governments value these lies over truths that may save lives for one reason – they don’t want to save lives.

In an increasingly populated world, where arable land will be at an all time premium during an ice age (there isn’t much land either side of the equator which will be the only feasible place to grow food) the amount of food needed to feed 6.5 billion people is phenomenal.

It suits governments to let the masses die, as feeding 2 billion people is much more manageable. The great green con has always been about depopulation.

  8. Bill says:

They’re having a horrific winter in Europe…I have not seen a DAMN WORD about it in the US mainstream media!

    • Val Carmean says:

Yeah, no coverage. World is a sad place. They never report of coming ice age or helping people to be prepared for it. No word ever of all the volcanic activity. I still haven’t heard anything on this disaster. We should stop reporting politics and report the science of our planet so we can better survive these onslaughts of nature. Ugh.

yup, I have a friend going to usa commenting on the lack of snow where shes going.(ok we dont GET snow so for us its a treat)yet a goodly part of usa copped deep snows.floridas oranges frozen again 3rd yr in a row, but becuase a strip is milder thats the entire Focus for media.
Id love to know what Piers USA forecast is for that area soon. i suspect its going to change.

  9. This is SO TERRIBLE.

And where is the news in America? Only Robert Felix reports this stuff!

Please, everyone, email http://www.DrudgeReport.com – he needs to be reporting this!.

      Thanks Robertvdl,
I’ve never subscribed to the ‘black helicopter’ conspiracy premise, etc. having been a reasonably good student of history, “human folly” is the universal trump card for a foolish mankind (esp when times are good). (And having lived in Idaho where the gene pool is less than 6″ deep)

But it is significant the Bilderbergers are at least looking at the possibility of global cooling. Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands used to be the single biggest shareholder in Royal Dutch Shell, which would be a prime beneficiary of cooling, no doubt about it.

  12. pike says:

The death toll count are always grossly inaccurate because of government distortion. How can there be only be a few hundred deaths from well below freezing temps. That cut off house holds from everything they need to live.

Hell if the death toll count from this big freeze goes as high as the real figures. The people might start to wake up to the fact. They have been conned out of there money by government scams of global warming, climate change and carbon taxes.

It always makes me sick that the many western governments would value these lies over truths that may save lives. Just to swindle a few extra dollars out of a already squeezed tax payer.

    • TomO says:

I’m going to say it again – and again and again and again. AGW is not about taking money from the tax payers or transferring wealth from the poor to the rich. This IS about population reduction, and the results of this “cold snap” is doing a good job of proving that it is going to work. The world population is being set up to believe we are going into a prolonged warming period, energy policies are going to be written to reduce available energy, and the poor and old will be allowed to starve and/or freeze to death, whichever comes first. And those that survive the first advances of the cold will end up killing each other off for scraps of food.

      • Luciano says:

I totally agree that this government primary goal is draconian population reduction all their policies, including their fellow cronies around the world, no matter their differences coalesce on worldwide slaughter of billions in the end.
