Four feet of snow expected in Tetons

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RIVERTON WY
MOIST STRONG WEST PACIFIC FLOW WILL CONTINUE TO BRING SNOW AND STRONG WINDS TO THE WESTERN AND NORTHERN MOUNTAINS TONIGHT THROUGH WEDS NIGHT.
PERIODS OF MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW. WINDS BECOMING QUITE STRONG ON THE PASSES AND UPPER MOUNTAIN RIDGES AS THE STORM INTENSIFIES THROUGH TONIGHT AND WEDS.
SNOW SHOULD TAPER OFF THROUGH WEDS NIGHT BUT EXPECT VERY STRONG WINDS… SIGNIFICANT BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW THROUGH THE NIGHT.
SNOWFALL UP TO FOUR FEET MAY FALL IN THE TETONS WITH OTHER AREAS SEEING ONE TO TWO TO THREE FEET. SOME HIGHER MOUNTAIN AREAS MAY SEE WIND GUSTS OVER 90 MPH WEDS.
TETON AND GROS VENTRE MOUNTAINS… SNOWFALL OF 30 TO 40 INCHES EXPECTED… LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE… 10 TO 18 INCHES WERE ALREADY REPORTED IN THE TETONS AS OF 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON.
WEST WINDS WILL START OUT AROUND 20 TO 30 MPH…THEN INCREASE TO 40 TO 50 MPH WITH GUSTS AS HIGH AS 90 MPH ON THE PASSES AND HIGHER PEAKS ON WEDNESDAY. VISIBILITY WILL BE NEAR ZERO AT TIMES IN SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW.
