WINTER STORM WARNING UNTIL 7 AM EDT TUESDAY.

LOCATIONS…SOUTHERN ERIE…CHAUTAUQUA AND CATTARAUGUS COUNTIES.

TIMING…THROUGH EARLY TUESDAY MORNING.

HEAVY SNOW… 8 TO 16 INCH STORM TOTALS…WITH THE MOST SIGNIFICANT SNOW FALLING MONDAY MORNING AND EARLY AFTERNOON WHEN SNOW FALL RATES COULD EXCEED ONE INCH PER HOUR.

WINDS…NORTHWEST 15 TO 30 MPH.

VISIBILITIES…AS LOW AS A QUARTER MILE AT TIMES.

DOWNED TREE LIMBS AND POWER LINES WILL LEAD TO WIDESPREAD POWER OUTAGES. THERE WILL BE THE CHANCE FOR SHALLOW ROOTED TREES TO BE BROUGHT DOWN AS WELL.

ANTICIPATE PROLONGED POWER OUTAGES IN MORE RURAL AREAS. HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS WILL DEVELOP…PARTICULARLY OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN.
