About that powerful Italian earthquake
Strongest quake in the region in CENTURIES, and I missed it by 70 miles!
When the magnitude 6.0 earthquake hit Italy early Sunday morning – the most powerful earthquake to strike the Emilia-Romagna region in many centuries – it sent thousands of panicked Italians onto the streets in their pyjamas.
Meanwhile, my wife and I remained blissfully asleep just 70 miles south in Florence, Italy, returning from a meeting with my Italian publisher in Cesena.
Television images showed toppled factories and walls and many ruined buildings, including historic bell towers, churches and palaces.
Geologists warned that aftershocks could hit the region for days.
The powerful earthquake struck about 35 kilometres north of Bologna, and also shook the major towns of Modena, Ferrara, Rovigo, Verona and Mantua
Needless to say, we feel very fortunate to have not been affected by the quake, but feel very sorry for the people in this beautiful area of the world.

Why no news on MSM concerning this Bulgarian earthquake that has just passed?? The Alpide Belt is on the move.

Region: BULGARIA
Distances: 24 km (14 miles) W of SOFIA, Bulgaria

Robert and wife, it’s a very very good thing that you were 70 miles South of the epicenter! Plate tectonics is alive and well, and quite a shame of the ruin of historic buildings and, not the least, lives lost.
With some little research you will find out that between the end of the nineteenth century and 1920 there were tens of thousands of fatalities of Italians caused by major earthquakes.
There were many major, fatal worldwide earthquakes in the early twentieth century – also coinciding with a couple of very low sunspot number solar cycles.
Italy comes at number three on the list of the most earthquake fatalities – China being number one on the list.
What does all this have to do with an impending Ice Age?
I had a feeling something would happen that night.
Whenever there is a big disaster about to happen somewhere in the world I tend to feel very anxious the day before where no medical reasons exist.
I just couldn’t stop being anxious that night.
Glad to hear you were fortunate enough “to miss it”, Robert!
I felt the earthqake. A few minutes before the “L” waves reached my home my cat, outside the bedroom window, woke me up so I felt the bed sway and I saw the chandelier swinging. I immediately looked at my watch: it was 4:04. I thought that if the epicenter was quite far certainly the magnitude was greater than 5.
yuup I also saw the Bulgarian quake listed..it takes death or newshounds to get it press and Bulgarias tiny and not “newsworthy” enough, like the complete msm blackout of the huge death tolls and 17ft snow right through the Balkans etc…doesnt suit someones agenda..
and theres been at least 5? reasonable aftershocks in Italy around the high 4 and 5 mark.
usgs real time quake maps rather nifty:-)
Some people just can’t resist the the temptation to play with fire to get power.

Christchurch had the 2nd biggest quake so far this year. 5.2. First quake over M5.0 since January 15.
Hit again same spot
