Amsterdam – Coldest summer in 25 years
This comes from the Amsterdam City Tours website. Amsterdam is the largest city and the capital of the Netherlands.
At the summer’s halfway point, the maximum temperature had only reached a measly 15.7 degrees Celsius. It hasn’t been that cold this time of year since 1987.
In June, we saw an average of 94 millimeters of rain, 26 millimeters more than normal for this time of year.
So much for global warming.

“Looks like other places near England are cold also,” says Ryan. “I bet if we did research most places are.”

Are You Prepared?

I recommend this DVD

Amsterdam is a city that has grown a lot in recent years, so there is a considerable UHI effect. In spite of this UHI effect it is the coldest summer in 25 years. If the UHI efect was to be taken in account, it would probably be the coldest summer in many more years.
good point
“I bet if we did research most places are.” – you won!
Germany is wet and cold. I don’t have all the details but the TV news is talking about it.
One example about the Weather Chaos in Germany:
“Hundreds Injured by Lightning Strikes and Storms”
http://www.spiegel.de/international/germany/violent-storms-result-in-injuries-and-death-in-germany-a-842068.html
Ireland, where I live. Wet and cold. Our local weather tweet, today: Thunderstorm warning in effect for our area until 7PM!
Another tweet: Terrible conditions reported on the N7 with Rain and Hail.
Cold and wet in Ireland too… our “UHI” is a large Atlantic Ocean to our west!
People we know in the Netherlands have been complaining quite a bit about this.
only 14c here in Dublin Ireland now… 11:47 am 07/20.
I live in the east of the netherlands right on the border with germany and i think i can say it is the worst summer i can remember.
we have had days well over 20c but few and lots lots of rain.
greets from holland
