UK faces a month’s worth of rain today
Severe risk of flooding and chaos. Follows the wettest June on record AND the wettest April on record.
The Environment Agency has urged communities in the north and east of England, the Midlands and much of Wales to be prepared for “very significant” flooding.
Tony Waters, deputy chief forecaster at the Met Office, said: “Rainfall totals could be 20-40mm widely across warning areas, but some places could see around 100mm (3.9 inches) of rain through today and into tomorrow.
Last month was the wettest June since records began, with double the average rain falling during the month. Provisional figures from the Met Office showed the UK received 145.3mm (5.7 inches) in June, beating the previous record of 136.2mm (5.4 inches) in June 2007.
It was the second month this year to see record-breaking amounts of rain, after this April became the wettest in the records dating back more than a century to 1910.

Thanks to Alan Caruba and Benjamin Napier for this link
“If this was snow, the island would disappear beneath it,” says Alan.

Are You Prepared?

I recommend this DVD

I agree we be digging out of are homes there be that much of the white stuff the question is what this winter has in store now the gulf stream is sitting in the same place as 2010 look how bad UK was that winter even though last year the jet stream was south but not as far south to give the extreme cold not like poor Europe but this year the jet stream is well south in southern France I blame colder north Atlantic colder waters has force the jet stream further south remember this in my eyes this is dangerous warning of a coming next age bob would agree this is a warning sign its not going away every summer now this is happening and the weather patterns is that of November or December setup highs are sticking in the mid Atlantic this is a winters patterns not summers this rain is a precursor for what I think winter has snow shovels at the ready
Does Piers Corbyn concur?
Here in Belfast this morning it looks and feels like November. Heavy drizzly downpours and thick hill fog. The tourists in the city centre look as if they are dressed for winter! Except for a week of fine weather at the end of May, the weather from 1st April onwards has been abysmal and I have memories going back to the mid 1950′s.
Robert,
I wonder if the salt changes of the oceans are the cause?
Since the oceans are getting fresher in the northern latitudes and more salty at the equatorial regions.
Hmmmmm…water, evaporation, precipitation…

Alan has a very valid point. If the weather pattern since March had been November to February, then indeed we would have been up to our oxters in snow( and of course the ‘usual suspects’ would have said it was all due to CO2-induced warming)
For once Piers Corbyn and the Met Office seem to agree about the weather we can expect for the UK,

with NO Public apology to Piers Corbyn again..also as usual!
“If this was snow, the island would disappear beneath it,” says Alan. Shame on you, Alan; snowfalls are a thing of the past, or didn’t you know?

Piers Corbyn has a good article on it here using Solar Technique; map and warnings posted for extreme level events 6 weeks prior to current period but as usual British BullS*** Corporation ignore in favour of warmist ideology.

Historic snowfalls happened over the Alps in both 1999 and winter 2012, setting the 30 day records for modern times in Switzerland (maybe in Austria too for all I know). Although some died in avalanches, we have not had an ice age as a result of either of them. The snow melted as normal both years.
It’s not a snowfall like that which will cause an ice age, it’s a summer without a summer, which causes the previous winter’s snow not to melt.
The only way I can see that happening is if you had a huge blocking high in the Atlantic stretching from South America to Greenland and a stable run of arctic air coming down over Scandinavia to the Alps.
What would be the effect of that on climate in siberia, Canada and the rest of the world, eh?
