  1. Isn’t this more of a thermal eruption than a regular one like Mt. St. Helens?

    • qf says:

When the main center of NZ’s North Is blows it’ll dwarf Mt St Helens! It already did 1850 years ago.

  2. Norm Smith says:

Regardless of how people label this eruption one fact remains: Volcanic dust particles that enter the stratosphere, and upper troposphere, will take many years to come back down. This high altitude dust is one driver of global cooling.

      How do you know ?

If you’re taking climate scientists word for it you should consider their success rate with predictions – heck even their whole hypothesis.

No magma, steam and heat and ash mostly. Still means that heat is in there close to the surface tho, and possibly a stronger magmatic eruption to come.

Also the article says that White Is and Tongariro eruptions are not connected [24 hours apart].. isnt about time these Geos learned to ..connect the dots!! NO Virginia they ARE connected. The data is there in the geomagnetic disturbances. It is now accepted even by USGS that volcanic activity is at an all time high globally.
