“San Luis Obispo County Supervisors approve of a $1.2 billion solar project with a bankrupt company that is owned by the French and subsidized by loan guarantees from the federal government,” says reader.

“(The project) will create only 12 permanent jobs, will manufacture solar panels in Mexico, and will cease operations in 50 years. Consumers will be forced to pay 50% above market price for the energy it produces.” Does the word “screwed” come to mind?

  1. Postman1 says:

California has no clue, but take heart folks, the rest of us will end up bailing them out.

  2. I think California will go bankrupt shortly before the federal government.

  3. Harold says:

These days, government seems to look at the people it’s supposed to be serving as a resource to be mined, a giant pool of suckers, rubes and patsies to be exploited until it is exhausted.

  4. Luciano says:

When will the madness end? The people of San Luis Obispo County should rebel and throw out of office all who promoted and supported this outrageous disregard of the good of the citizens of the county and demand a stop before they drive the citizens into poverty if not then it is time to flee somewhere where they lookout for and get the people’s support. Time for a referendum! Take away also all pension rights of the supervisors!

  5. ShariShark says:

I thought California was already on the verge of bankruptcy – this is Federal money they are blowing isn’t it?
