Ice extent at the South Pole is at record levels, and this is caused by global warming, says this article on giornalettismo.com.

Entitled “Il paradosso del ghiaccio in Antartide” (“The paradox of ice in Antarctica”), the article asserts that although the South Pole has a record high amount of ice, this does not in any way diminish fears about the record low amount of ice at the North Pole.

They are both the result of global warming.

There are complex and surprising effects of global warming,” say scientists. “It seems counter-intuitive, but Antarctica is part of the heater. A warming world has complex dynamics and sometimes surprising. ”

“Global warming has (supposedly) created a kind of ‘wind wall’ that keeps the cold temperature in Antarctica while ‘the rest of the world warms.’ In fact in the
last 30 years the sea level has risen Antarctic 1% per year while the rest of the world warms.

Looks like the Italians, along with the rest of the world, have been snookered by the global warming hype.

It is unfathomable to me how people can believe that global warming can melt the ice in the Arctic while simultaneously creating more ice in the Antarctic.

Well , dear readers ,look up to the arctic , sea-ice concentration is now well above 2007 and growing faster than ever . Take a look at the weathermaps it is going to be extremely cold above the open waters next week and most likely sea-ice will top the last ten years within short . Mr. Joe Bastardi already put some questions at the reports of us governmental institutions showing less increase . Was it the personal intervention of Barack Obama to keep the warmist bookkeeping clean ?

    People are stupid.

“There are complex and surprising effects of global warming,” say scientists…

If most of northern Europe is covered in a mile thick sheet of ice thirty years from now, they’ll swear it’s due to global warming.

  4. Rosco says:

The greenhouse theory asserts the Earth and Sun are in “radiative eqilibrium” and this is how they calculate the minus 18 degrees C Earth temperature and the 33 degree C “greenhouse effect”.

Then they trash all real science by asserting that “trapping” radiation with no increase in the solar radiation causes global warming.

What this is really saying is that the Earth is heating up by cooling down !

Because ONLY things that are actually COOLING DOWN emit LESS radiation !!

But apparently climate science is magic and anyone should not be surprised at such inane paradoxes as a slightly warming Arctic and freezing Antarctic “proving” global warming as being completely acceptable to people whose basic belief is a complete paradox.

The whole premise about the greenhouse effect is wrong – the atmosphere is not a blanket keeping us warm it is, in reality, a massive heat pump cooling the Earth’s surface while the oceans are the evaporative coolers !

Otherwise the same solar radiation that heats the Moon’s daytime surfaces to over 120 degrees C would do the same to the Earth !

Don’t be fooled about the Moon’s long 29 Earth day rotation period – this explains the extreme cold on the Moon’s dark side while the maximum temperature is determined by the power of the solar radiation.

So if I get this right by Italin thinking, I can place Blocks of ice in the hot part of my home and it will help heat up the cold parts of my Home?

  6. Ben Napier says:

OUr public education system has been a resounding success. It has created a society completely ignorant of science and mathematics. Not to mention critical thinking. It makes people much easier to lead around by the nose.

  7. Mirco Poletto says:

Of course we can have warmer areas during a cooling period due to earth own heat flux, but it is pratically impossible to have colder areas and ice growing in a planet heating up.

  8. Theo says:

You get those people that believe, just to believe with no reasons like believing they landed on the moon!!They are most likely the ones also believing in global warming and the hole in the ozone……
    I pity them………..

JAXA,Chandrayaan-1,Chang’e 2. Japan,India,China. All confirm we landed on the moon.
Images taken by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) mission beginning in July 2009 show the six Apollo Lunar Module descent stages, Apollo Lunar Surface Experiment Package (ALSEP) science experiments, astronaut footpaths, and lunar rover tire tracks.
The Soviets monitored the missions. Why wouldn’t they have called us out if we had faked the landings?
We landed men on the moon.

  9. Laurel says:

    Italy joined the EU
and then allowed the EU paragons of MISmanagement to ruin its economy further..
    so?
what makes anyone think that the majority care to think too hard about warming when they can’t think…about something thats starving their kids and leaving them job and homeless?
Il Globo says so..it must be true:-)

  10. Let’s see? The early snowfall in Southern Australia was caused by a cold front from Antartica. The cold air in Southern Australia mixes with the warmer air of Central Australia (and aroud the southern part of our planet) but doesn’t have any effect upon it. The cold and warm air doesn’t mix, like oil and vinegar? So the cold air stays south and the warm air stays north … all the way to the Artic? This is a puzzlement?

  11. Andy says:

More ice, less ice, whatever, it is all consistent with a warming planet, so they say. What a scam!

  12. John the 1st says:

The way I see this going down is this. In a year maybe 2, when the signs of global cooling can no longer be ignored, someone on the agw side will suddenly have a flash of ‘insight’. They will state that “Yes the theory of global warming was incorrect”. However they will say that it was caused by one or two obscur details, maybe blame early computer modeling technology or some arcane mathmatical quirk that scewed the data.
It will seem plausible and offer the rest of the agw crowd a reasonable way out, if they choose to take it. Not the man on the street agw peasent mind you. They will hold fast till the end. But the smart ones. The ones that pull the strings and set the agendas, they will have already shifted to some other cause.
People like us will be caught off guard. After so many years of pushing against a giant weight that weight will have been suddenly pulled away. While we are metaphorically falling forward they will shift the axis of their message to some other catasrophic disaster that will require massive govt spending and draconian regulations.
Watch them. They are smart and crafty. Billions have been made off of agw. They will not give up that model easily.

There’s a very large diaspora of Italians in Canada here and I know that it is very hard to pull the wool over their eyes,to trick,I’m surprised that in Italy…global warming is being believed to such an extent. The”Iceman”should serve as a reminder of how human beings will have to survive,if I remember correctly there was a court battle of which country Italy or Austria had ownership of the body/ ancient man found freeze dried from the Alps. He was a modern all out iceage casualty trying to survive by going south over the the high mountain alps!

  14. Gail says:

People are no smarter now than they were in the 10th century.

    • igor says:

What are you trying to project that man is no smarter now than he was in the 10th century,I don’t buy it.

  15. Inquiring says:

Boy they forgot this past winter real quick! Roofs of barn’s and homes collapsing under the weight of all the snow and the damage it did to some crops, or the countries just west of them where houses were buried under so much snow you could not see the roof. How about the snow’s that Algeria seen? “Hello” thats northern Africa.

  16. The world, I guess, is nothing more than a gigantic Stirling Engine: self-contained, with an external heat source…remember, though, the Antarctic is a continent and retains its’ cold even during the southern Summer. The northern Arctic Ocean does not.
The Spring in Arizona was long and cool this year. We can only hope…
