Avalanche time.
Holy Cow! That’s just about 17% of the (record) total snow (1142 inches)in that area for the winter of 1998/1999.. and winter has hardly started!
1,140 inches is the official world snowfall record, set at the Mt. Baker Ski Area during the 1998/1999 season. Press release here: http://www.publicaffairs.noaa.gov/releases99/aug99/noaa99056.html I greatly enjoyed skiing there that season.
I skied there that year, too. Awesome!
Click here ( http://www.iceagenow.com/List_of_Expanding_Glaciers.htm ) and then scroll down to see a photo of my friend Jim Terrell taken on Mt. Baker on19 July 2000, where about 20 feet snow still remained. In July!
That’s an amazing photo! Mt. Baker Ski Area already has a 41-inch base on the lower mountain, a 50-inch base on the upper mountain, and will open tomorrow http://www.mtbaker.us/index.php/snow-report/

Any one want to guess how soon it will be before some twit says it is because of global warming?
Let’s go snowboarding and have search & rescue save us!
I totaled the minimums and they totaled to 160 inches, or 13.3 ft. That’s bad enough. Oh well.
