“That’s more than 7 feet (2m) of snow in just 5 days!” says reader Chuck Clancy.

Crystal Mountain, Washington – It began snowing heavily Saturday night and it hasn’t let up since. Tuesday was a powder feast with the best snow conditions many of us have ever skied. It was deep, light and bottomless. Smiles were large, high fives were in abundance and the words “best day ever” were heard as skiers and boarders gathered at the end of the day. We woke up to more new snow yesterday. Powder hounds were rewarded with deep freshies in the trees off the Forest Queen lift, and refills every run.

We plan to have 9 lifts in operation on Friday, including Northway and High Campbell. This weekend we plan to have all 10 lifts in operation, along with Southback which has been closed all week. It will be powder heaven! Pack your bags, clear your schedules and get up here. All operations are weather and conditions permitting.

The snow is amazing but along with the deep snow comes elevated risk. Practice deep snow safety and ski/ride with a visible partner. Stay away from tree wells.

This matches what is going on in Western/North Eastern Switzerland, where snowpack levels are >170% of long-term average (source http://www.slf.ch ).
