Heavy snow expected in Armenia
All of Armenia, except for some regions of Tavush and Syunik provinces, is already covered with snow.
Heavy snowfall is expected throughout Armenia on December 20-21, says Gagik Surenyan, Head of Forecasting Department at Armenia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations.
“The strong cyclone is to hit the republic starting from tomorrow, and on December 21, bringing heavy snowfall. Abundant snow is expected in Shirak and Kotayk provinces, as well as in mountain areas of Aragatsotn and Vayots Dzor provinces. The snow depth may grow to 20-25 cm there on these days,” he said.
At present, the whole territory of Armenia, except for some regions of Tavush and Syunik provinces, is covered with snow, according to him.
