Heavy snowfall in Moldova – Many towns and villages isolated

Snow-drifts measure 6 feet deep (1.8 meters) in some places.

The northern part of Moldova has been hit by heavy snow in the past two days.

Many towns and villages remained isolated because the roads are blocked.

The Moldovan Ministry of Transportation said in a press release that authorities were not able yet to penetrate the region and remove the snow. However, they have promised to do their best to re-establish road connections between the Northern and Central part of Moldova.
