“Nothing about this in the Dutch main stream media,” says reader Argiris Diamantis

Oleksandr Popov, head of Kyiv City State Administration, has declared a state of emergency in the capital.

Popov’s statement published on the official website of the Kyiv city administration says:

“Because of a potential threat to the economy and the life of the city as a result of the impact of heavy snowfall Kyiv is now officially in the state of emergency. This will allow the capital to engage forces not subordinate to the city authorities.”

The Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Interior Affairs have mobilized construction companies and industrial enterprises to help in snow removal.

Also, the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Defense and Interior schools and Security Service has asked students to aid in snow removal.

  1. Swedish media are NOT telling about other cold events in Europe, they even downplay our own cold! The swedes of power are now absorbing Co2 into metalrods to put into mountains. “This is our only hope” these charlatans say! SVD, SMHI and SVT. They are all inbred leftist and ‘green’ enviromentalists who seems to think Sweden are a part of the middleast. Jewhating are Extreme in Sweden.

  2. It can’t be long before you will read that some IPCC scientist has just reported that 2012 was one of the warmest years on record and the North Pole is the warmest ever recorded. This will be said with due solemnity and all the left wing newspapers will carry this story in their front page headlines! Then there will be another lot of frenzied reporting about why we must save the planet before CO2 emissions boil it.

  3. All the while the UK is about to be blasted by wind and rain coming from the WEST – so temperatures will rise up to around 50f or 10c. No-one here wants winds from the EAST – as these would bring the cold weather back.

  4. There’s nothing about this on the U.S. Weather Channel. You want to know what’s happening in the world, you have to come here. Thank the stars for Robert and contributors like Argiris.

Kyev is a big city, around 3 million people. For it to be closed down, a state of emergency declared, private companies and school-age kids mobilized for shoveling, that sounds like compelling news to me. Add in that all of Eastern Europe, Northern Europe and large sections of Russia and China are snowed under, and no mention in the Western media – things that make you go hmmmm.

BTW, I’m not suggesting a warmist conspiracy in this case, more a confederacy of dunces.

  5. I guess this is just the result of global warming again? It is never to early to induct students into the gp movement of thousands of tons of snow. :)

  6. well the list of snowed in roads blocked and states in trouble grows daily..
but it would upset the warmist spinmeisters to allow any reports to get into msm..
    so they wont.
    DOH ha ha har..
if this is the Start of winter, how bad will it get before they Have to report it?
pity mk kibben gore mann and the rest dont get snowed under and kept icy quiet for a season or two:-)
