Latest activity prompts evacuation of nearby residents.
The 5,725-foot San Cristobal volcano, about 85 miles north of the capital Managua, has been active in recent years, and went through a similar episode in September.
Government spokesman Rosario Murillo called on residents who live within a 1.9-mile radius of the volcano to leave the area. Around 300 families live near the volcano.
A billowing grayish cloud could be seen drifting sideways from the volcano’s peak.
The volcano also stirred in mid-2008, when it expelled gas and rumbled with a series of small eruptions.

Are You Prepared?

I recommend this DVD

Hi Robert.
This is a bit further North, i know! I keep an eye on the Icelandic Met Office’s website, earthquake tracking page. The one which shows activity for the past 48 hours. Particularly for keeping, one eye on Katla to be truthful. As you know The Island has been very active for quite a few months, especially the Northern part of the Iceland.
However for the last 48 hours, the entire Island has has gone very quite! Only having Eight or so tremours. When its being showing over 20 to 30 plus tremors, nearly over every 48 hour period for months!
I hope nothing’s brewing.
Happy New Year to your Family and yourself and to all your followers
Best Wishes
Simon
