.A FAST MOVING AND VERY MOIST PACIFIC STORM SYSTEM OVER ARIZONA WILL MOVE RAPIDLY ACROSS NEW MEXICO THROUGH TONIGHT…LEAVING A SWATH OF WET SNOW OVER THE SUMMITS AND HIGHER SLOPES OF THE SAN JUAN…JEMEZ…AND SANGRE DE CRISTO MOUNTAINS. SNOW WILL TAPER OFF BUT NOT END ON SUNDAY…WITH ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL ON THE WAY FOR THE FIRST HALF OF THE WORK WEEK.

.A RELATIVELY WARM WINTER STORM WILL APPROACH SOUTHEAST UTAH AND SOUTHWEST COLORADO THIS MORNING THEN PROGRESS ACROSS THE AREA OVERNIGHT. ABUNDANT MOISTURE HAS MOVED IN AHEAD OF THIS SYSTEM AND WARMING TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE DAY…BRING SNOW LEVELS UP TO AROUND 8500 FEET. HEAVY SNOW WILL BEGIN OVER THE MOUNTAINS OF SOUTHEAST UTAH AND SOUTHWEST COLORADO THROUGH MID MORNING AND SPREAD NORTHWARD TO PORTIONS OF THE CENTRAL COLORADO MOUNTAINS DURING THE AFTERNOON. THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL WILL OCCUR OVER THE SAN JUAN MOUNTAINS WITH MODERATE SNOW AMOUNTS EXPECTED IN THE CENTRAL MOUNTAINS BY SUNDAY AFTERNOON. SOUTHWEST FACING SLOPES WILL BE FAVORED TO RECEIVE THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS.
