France – Historic snowfall in the Pyrenees

Up to 200 cm (6.5 ft) of fresh snow has fallen in ski resorts on the French side of the Pyrenees since Sunday, with another 40-70 cm (16-27 inches) of fresh snow expected.

It’s too dangerous slopes in such a situation to keep them open, so as a precaution, virtually all ski lifts have been closed since Tuesday.
