Stranded in their homes by Friday’s blizzard, frustrated residents on New York’s Long Island spent Monday begging for plows to dig them out.

In Centereach, neighbors took matters into their own hands, using shovels and snowblowers to clear the streets on their own.

Walter Doroski said, “It’s been horrible. This is the worst it’s ever been, we haven’t seen a plow truck at all.”

Suffolk communities like Setauket and Ronkonkoma are still buried under nearly 3 feet of snow.

Glad to see them take matters into their own hands. Hate to grownups acting like victims. Still, they pay the taxes, they darn well should be getting the services.

ANOTHER illustration of how very ill-prepared humanity is for the coming Ice Age!

  4. Caroline in Central West Virginia says:

In rural West Virginia, when we got slammed by more than 3 ft of snow at the end of October, everyone helped everyone else. Tractors, plows, chainsaw teams removed the gazillion fallen trees that blocked our roads and took our power. we all checked on our neighbours.. it was on with the snowshoes for us! We did NOT wait for the government to wipe our butts!

  5. West Houston says:

There was a city in England that was caught short on plows by a big snow. The mayor was quoted as saying that he hadn’t bothered to worry about new snow equipment because the Global Warming people told him that it wouldn’t be needed.
I’ll just bet the same thing is going on, here.
