“The National Weather Service issued a blizzard watch for parts of Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Long Island and said travel there could become nearly impossible.”

Forecasts called for as much as 9 inches of snow across central Michigan, a foot and a half in New York’s Hudson Valley region, and 2 feet or more across coastal New England. (Italics added)

In Boston, the storm has the potential to take out century-old records.

During the most intense part of the storm, as much as 3 inches of snow could fall per hour along the coast, including Boston, Hartford and Portland, Maine.

    How funny.

Here in the south of Toulouse, France, 17 days ago, I found that 1 inch per hour was really impressive.

    3 inches per hour…

How come everything is historic nowdays?
Grandad used to say it was “Mighty cold out”. He grew up in Alaska during the gold rush days. If he said it was “Mighty cold out” then I knew it was cold. He hardly ever said that. Even at 103.
I think he might take umbrage with how every storm that comes our way now days is “Historic” or “One for the books”.

But no matter how mighty cold out it gets, you’ll still see people without gloves and coats, wearing shorts, and flip flops. And they probably look at me as the odd fellow bundled in long johns, winter coat, gloves, and ear muffs.

will Florida ever get any winter weather?it will come down soon.

With the beginning of the decline of solar radiations starting now, of the low cycle C24, I believe the logical answer yes, very soon.

  4. Tim says:

So much for global warming ! A mild January in parts of the East coast may have some people believe that. But the truth is winter is coming back with a veangence.

  5. AndrewS says:

Chicago area report: this same storm hit here all day with mostly rain and wet snow since before dawn. At about 3:00pm it became all snow, the heavy wet type. I ride the train home and saw car traffic was crawling on most roads. On arriving at my home in a northern suburb, was greeted by about 4 to 5 inches of heavy wet snow, it seems to have stopped, or at least the worst of it has passed by. Now to clear the driveway, slowly. Its quit heavy stuff, had it been a little colder it would have measured deeper I’m sure.

And Job said ‘God sends the hoarfrost to shut men indoor to make them consider their ways’. Will they? I doubt it. 911 was a shot across the bow. About 3400 died that day which is an average day at the abortion mills. If this storm pans out as predicted we must consider it as a second warning. This coming lent should lead everyone to serious repentance and a return to God!

Dirty Weather ! Snowstorms have never occurred before. The Church of Warm and of the Holy Evolution, assure us that Gaia has rested 5 billion years, peacefully evolving at 21 C each and every day. This massive winter storm, which mimics similar storms around the world in the past 5 months, is of course caused by Co2 which is melting the arctic, pushing cold air south, which then hits warmer regions, leading to precipitation….blah blah blah. That is science ! [for someone missing most of their brain].

  9. Hell_Is_Like_Newark says:

This storm is getting really over-hyped here in the NYC metro area. Now, the snow storms of 2010 and 1993 were impressive. This storm? Meh… not so much….
