With much as three feet of snow dumped on Connecticut, the state saw record or near-record snowfall amounts in seven of eight counties, said Gov. Dannel Malloy
East Haddam got about 35 inches of snow, the highest in Middlesex County, according to the National Weather Service via meteorologist Geoff Fox. Old Saybrook reported 30 inches of snow, Clinton at 27.5, Haddam 27 and Cromwell 23.

Snow choked off virtually every secondary road in the state. Buses stopped running; Metro-North Railroad suspended train service; there was no mail delivery and post offices throughout the state stayed closed.
