Record cold, along with blizzard warning, in Alaska

Facebook Twitter

“A daily record for lowest maximum temperature of 4 degrees was set at Anchorage Wednesday,” says reader Josh. This breaks the old record of 6 degrees set in1993.

Blizzard warning to boot!

Where’s the warming?

Blizzard Warning in effect from 6 PM this evening to 4 PM akst Friday through Thompson Pass…

Snow… 10 to 20 inches.

Visibility… one quarter mile or less at times.

Wind… northeast 30 to 40 mph.

Snow will develop this evening and combine with strong winds to create blizzard conditions through Friday afternoon. Snow will diminish in intensity and winds will  begin to subside Friday evening.

Impacts… snowfall combined with strong winds and blowing snow  will produce white-out conditions. Driving will be very difficult.

All travel and outdoor activity is strongly discouraged.

  1. Your reporting of ice, snow and cold in several different countries and continents is unfair to AGW supporters.Just because people are freezing to death doesn’t mean its cold!

“Global” isn’t supposed to mean you actually go around the globe to see what is really happening. “Global Warming” means you put numbers (junk) into computers and see what comes out (more junk).

You just don’t understand. Turn on CNN, CBS, NPR, etc. and listen to real scientists explain all this to you.

  2. Never seen so many winter weather advisories watches and warnings for texas. almost all of west texas in for a wild ride of freezing rain sleet and snow for the next 3 or 4 days.

  3. Robert,

I think this winter is going to be quite deadly…considering how much hype global warming has put many communities under equipped for both cold and heavy snow.
