With officially 6.5 inches of snow, the old record of 3.7 inches on December 4th was nearly doubled (and most of the snow fell before noon!).

The old record was set in 1972.

    Statement as of 8:17 am MST on December 6, 2013

    … Record low temperatures set this morning…

    In western Colorado,

    At 4 miles southwest of Craig, the low temperature this morning was
    -24. This set a new record low temperature for December 6, breaking
    the previous record of -10 set in 2011.

    At the Grand Junction regional Airport, the low was -9. This set a
    new record low, breaking the previous record of 7, set in 2011.

    At Palisade, the low was 5 setting a new record low, breaking the
    previous record of 6 set in 1912.

    At 1 mile east of Rangely, the low was -22, setting a new
    record low, breaking the previous record of -12 set in 1972.

    In eastern Utah,

    At Jensen, the low this morning was -23 degrees. This set a new
    record low, breaking the previous record of -10 set in 1972.
