Reports state that the large amounts of snow causing major problems in East Tyrol after up to a metre of snow has fallen since 30 January 2014, cutting off valleys and roads.

    Some ski resorts in Italy saw 175cm (69 inches) of new snow in under a week – it’s been happening all the way along the Southern Side of the Alps: northern Italy, southern Switzerland, the Dolomiti and in South/Eastern Austria.
