The snowfall is unusual in the first week of May – considered mid-summer season in Manali, which has so far witnessed low temperatures.

Hoteliers say tourists are demanding blankets, heavy quilts and room heaters.

Peaks near Manali, including Rohtang, have been experiencing snowfall since Saturday night.

Thanks to Argiris Diamantis for this link

“The whole of Marhi and Beas Nullah (India) are covered with several feet of winter snow and the mountains are now glittering like silver after fresh snowfall,” says Argiris.

“Unusual May snowfall in Arkansas (USA), in Qinjiang (China) and in Manali (India), all at the same time. Climate is changing all right, we are heading not for a warmer but for a much cooler world.”

Geophysicist says the mini ice age will start within a few years and will last 60-80 years.

7 March 2013 – The Little Ice Age should be the story of the century, yet it’s only being announced quietly by climate scientists and solar physicists. Not a word is being mentioned by the mainstream media, who had a hand in selling the Global Warming propaganda that has become irrelevant as we slide into colder climate.

US solar scientists have announced years ago that the sun appears to be headed into a lengthly spell of low activity, which means that the Earth is far from facing a Global Warming catastrophe and actually headed into a Little Ice Age.

According to geophysicist Victor Manuel Velasco Herrera at the University of Mexico, in about 5 years the “Earth will enter a “Little Ice Age” which will last from 60 to 80 years and may be caused by the decrease in solar activity.”

The geophysicist slammed the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), saying their stand on global warming “is incorrect because only are based on mathematical models and presented results at scenarios that do not include, for example, solar activity”.

We’re already seeing and feeling the signs of the Little Ice Age, the article continues.

http://beforeitsnews.com/alternative/2013/03/little-ice-age-is-coming-in-2014-2585776.html

Thanks to Argiris Diamantis for this link

“The MSM do not consider the coming of the new ice age to be news,” says Argiris. “In the Netherlands we were not informed about the spring snow storms in the USA, but every little heat wave that happens gets a lot of attention because it “proves” the earth is warming (while it is actually cooling).

Good chance of producing the largest snowfall in the 2nd half of May since records began in 1917.

Confidence is increasing that a very late-season surge of cold air will move into southern Alaska on Friday… causing rain to change over to snow Friday afternoon or evening from the Western Kenai Peninsula to Anchorage and the mat-su.

The highest likelihood of accumulating snow will be Friday evening through early Saturday morning. It is too soon to forecast snowfall amounts…

There are only two instances in the record books where measurable snowfall was recorded in Anchorage (at the official climate station) during the 2nd half of May… on May 17 1989 and May 22 1964. Both storms deposited 0.2 inches of snowfall.

Has a good chance of producing the largest snowfall in the 2nd half of May since records began in 1917.

Additionally… if any measurable snowfall at all occurs this weekend it would make the 2012-2013 snow season the longest since records began.

The current record is held by the 1981-1982 snow season where 230 days elapsed between
the first and last snowfall.

There is still quite a bit of uncertainty with the details of the approaching storm. Outdoor enthusiasts should prepare for the late season cold and snow before heading out. Please stay tuned to the latest National weather forecasts for the most
up-to-date information about this unusual late season event.

26 Apr 13 – The damage from the freeze of April 11-12 to the 2013 Hard Red Winter Wheat Crop is just now starting to show up, but will not fully show itself until we have some warmer weather to spur crop growth, says Oklahoma State University Extension Area Agronomist Roger Gribble.

Gribble has concerns about significant freeze damage north and west of a line that stretches all the way from Newkirk down to Altus – a huge part of the Oklahoma wheat belt.

Mark Hodges, Executive Director of Plains Grains, Inc., also has grave concerns about the 2013 crop – especially in southwest Oklahoma and the Oklahoma Panhandle.

“Right now, it remains too early (to tell) because freeze damage primarily occurs from the freezing and rupturing of cells and until it is warm enough for that those damaged cells to dehydrate it will be hard to see the damage,’ says Hodges.

“In the Panhandle a lot of wheat has been “burnt” to the soil surface from temperatures in the teens (and growing points were 2″-3″ above the surface)… pretty obvious damage.

“The other somewhat lost factor is the moisture situation and the damage it has inflicted,” says Hodges, referring to the drought in a a lot of wheat producing areas.

“Sorry to ruin the fun, but an ice age cometh,” shouts the headline.

Here are excerpts from that article, published in 2008:

“Disconcerting as it may be to true believers in global warming, the average temperature on Earth has remained steady or slowly declined during the past decade, despite the continued increase in the atmospheric concentration of carbon dioxide, and now the global temperature is falling precipitously,” wrote Chapman.

The reason? Because “there is a close correlation between variations in the sunspot cycle and Earth’s climate. The previous time a cycle was delayed like (today) was in the Dalton Minimum, an especially cold period that lasted several decades from 1790.

“Northern winters became ferocious: in particular, the rout of Napoleon’s Grand Army during the retreat from Moscow in 1812 was at least partly due to the lack of sunspots.”

“It is time to put aside the global warming dogma, at least to begin contingency planning about what to do if we are moving into another little ice age, similar to the one that lasted from 1100 to 1850.

“There is no doubt that the next little ice age would be much worse than the previous one and much more harmful than anything warming may do. There are many more people now and we have become dependent on a few temperate agricultural areas, especially in the US and Canada.

Millions will starve if we do nothing to prepare

“Global warming would increase agricultural output, but global cooling will decrease it. Millions will starve if we do nothing to prepare for it (such as planning changes in agriculture to compensate), and millions more will die from cold-related diseases.

“The Greenland and Antarctic ice cores and other evidence show that for the past several million years, severe glaciation has almost always afflicted our planet.

“The bleak truth is that, under normal conditions, most of North America and Europe are buried under about 1.5km of ice. This bitterly frigid climate is interrupted occasionally by brief warm interglacials, typically lasting less than 10,000 years.

“The interglacial we have enjoyed throughout recorded human history, called the Holocene, began 11,000 years ago, so the ice is overdue. We also know that glaciation can occur quickly: the required decline in global temperature is about 12C and it can happen in 20 years.

“By then, most of the advanced nations would have ceased to exist, vanishing under the ice, and the rest of the world would be faced with a catastrophe beyond imagining.

“Once the glaciation starts, it will last 1000 centuries, an incomprehensible stretch of time.

“Those urging action to curb global warming need to take off the blinkers and give some thought to what we should do if we are facing global cooling instead.

“It will be difficult for people to face the truth when their reputations, careers, government grants or hopes for social change depend on global warming, but the fate of civilisation may be at stake.

Phil Chapman is a geophysicist and astronautical engineer who lives in San Francisco. He was the first Australian to become a NASA astronaut.
