Most snow cover in Germany in 20 years

At the highest German summit – the Zugspitze in the Bavarian Alps, the snow cover in May has reached a height of over six meters (aboiut 20 feet) for the first time in 20 years – according to measurements carried out by the German Meteorological Service (DWD).

As Dominik Smieskol from DWD in Munich said, the last time a six-meter snow cover was recorded on the Zugspitze was in May 1999. On May 23 this year, there was 610 cm .
